Updated: 12/23/2015There is now a Border Box element that can be found in the Weebly App Center. This makes the HTML instructions below outdated and no longer necessary but for the time those instructions will remain. Old HTML instructions:I have saw multiple people asking if there it was a way to add text or a paragraph to their Weebly site that had a box around it, or a background color with a border. Even if you are not familiar with custom HTML and CSS, there are a tools to help. Below you will find a short video to demonstrate this example, and to show you how to add it to your Weebly website.
This is a bit of text, that you will add to your site to explain the content of the page or product.
You may want this area to stand out. This is roughly 95% of the width of the area it is in, and it uses the content area default font styling. You can use a column elements to adjust it's width and positioning. To add a line break you simply add a 'greater than sign', the letter B the letter R than a 'less than sign' To learn more about CSS and HTML please visit Visit W3Schools! You can use the search feature in the top right corner to find what you're looking for if you're unfamiliar with the website. Don't Miss the demonstration video below! I will start with the basics.

Have you ever wondered if you're looking at a Weebly website or not. If you've been around long enough, by now you probably know what the average free Weebly theme looks like, there are roughly 100 free Weebly themes but most people gravitate towards a select few. Then you find sites like mine, that without saying so, you may never know this was built on Weebly.
How can we tell? It has been suggested, to create a community for Weebly users, a forum of sorts for that Weebly users only would be able to access. I should note, Weebly does have featured sites from time to time, but these are only a select few, and do not give you the variety you need. Right now, besides Facebook and a few other places there's no real way to find a Weebly site, unless you have been around Weebly long enough and have familiarized yourself with some of their free themes. If you do know what to look for, when you do happen across a Weebly site you know right away. What do you look for? Without the Weebly footer, or the use of a free Weebly theme, or even some mention of it on the website... how would you really know if you are looking at a Weebly website or not? How could you tell what the possibilities are if you don't even know you're looking at a Weebly website? For someone who is familiar with HTML code you can look at the source of a page to see if it was built on Weebly, although, this method in itself is inconvenient. What can you do? Weebly has a solution to help you identify a Weebly built website. |
